General Dentist Services

Listed below are the major areas of dental services our general dentists provide as well as a brief description of the service. Restoring the functionality and the betterment and/or maintenance of our patients’ oral health is our primary concern. We attempt to couple these services with an awareness of the sensitivity of our patients’ cosmetic concerns. Fortunately with the innovation in materials and techniques over the last 20 years we are able to provide our patients with the marriage of functional restorative dentistry and the beauty of the latest cosmetic techniques. In so doing we are pleased to impart to our patients our dental practice’s 96-year mission statement of providing “The Art, Science, Functional Harmony and Esthetic Beauty of Contemporary Dentistry.”

Tooth Colored Fillings
Gone are the days when tooth ailments and cavities could only be treated with unsightly metal fillings. Today, modern tooth-colored fillings made of durable resin or porcelain can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking effect. These revolutionary fillings are relatively undetectable and are easy to apply.

Inlays and Onlays
Porcelain inlays and onlays are an excellent conservative solution to restoring back teeth which have a significant loss of nature tooth structure. Virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth, porcelain inlays and onlays discreetly restore teeth to an optimal state of health. They resemble natural teeth so closely that only you will know their presence.

Crowns
Also called “caps,” crowns are natural looking covers that fit snugly over teeth to conceal cracked, badly discolored, injured, decayed, chipped or worn teeth. Crowns can be fabricated using 100% porcelain or a combination of a top layer of porcelain fused to a bottom layer of metal.

Bridges
Sometimes a bit more work is needed to give you the smile and functionality you want. If you are missing teeth, having trouble speaking or chewing and noticing strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help make your mouth healthy and optimally functional again. Bridges, like crowns, can be made, depending upon circumstance, exclusively of porcelain or a combination of porcelain and metal. They are used to bridge gaps between teeth and replace the missing teeth with strong, natural looking artificial teeth. These prostheses are long lasting, comfortable, and proven to make teeth strong and more stable.

Bonding
A smile can be dulled by stained, chipped, cracked or misaligned teeth, but bonding can quickly and painlessly restore your smile’s natural beauty. During the procedure, a thin coating of plastic resin is painted over the damaged tooth and shaped, strengthening them and making them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Veneers
An excellent alternative to crowns, veneers can mask stains, hide chips, correct misalignment, and create uniformity. Veneers, which are made of thin, customized material designed to be applied over the front surface of teeth, look very natural, are long lasting, and are relatively easy to apply. Veneers are primarily applied to the patient’s front or near front teeth.

Tooth Whitening
It is a natural occurrence that our teeth darken as we age. Sometimes the darkening of our teeth is accelerated by abnormal grinding or clenching habits that patients periodically develop throughout their lives. And sometimes we are just born with darkish looking teeth. To help restore your youthful bright smile or lighten the natural shade of your teeth we offer the fantastic in-office ZOOM bleaching system. We describe it as “fantastic” because many of our patient testimonials describe their bleaching results as being Afantastic@.

Implants and Implant Supported Crowns
Dental implants and its accompanying attached crown are the most natural replacement for missing teeth. Implants may be used to replace a single tooth, or any multiple of missing teeth, including all teeth, with permanent, lifelike tooth replacement. Dentist have been successfully placing dental implants for many years enabling hundreds of thousands of people to eat, smile and speak without the embarrassment or aggravation of slipping dentures or the self-consciousness often caused by missing teeth.
